BAPP is a local voluntary organisation and Registered Charity. We promote and facilitate opportunities for children and young people to play and participate in positive activities. BAPP recognises and promotes the importance of self-directed play in relation to child development and the rights of children and young people.

SOFA18 is here!!

Young people have been working hard with Ella to put together an exciting programme of activities for disabled and non-disabled young people age 12+ years. New for 2018, Dragon Boat Racing and Dirt Scooting. All young people are welcome to take part and if you have used SOFA before, the programme will be sent out next week in the post or by email. We will also be sending out to every Secondary School in B&NES and Youth groups.

Work for us?

We currently have the following vacancies for new staff to join existing teams. We offer a great experience, making a real difference to children and families across the Bath area. Experience is more important than qualifications however we do wish to recruit staff with appropriate training. All positions require an enhanced DBS check and 2 references. Where you are looking to gain experience please consider doing some voluntary work with us
Community play support worker 20 hrs wk working Tues, Weds and Thurs, year round, supporting children and families in nurture groups in schools and in family play hubs.
Crèche worker working Tuesday and Friday mornings term time only
Lunchtime play worker working Mon - Fri term time only in a Bath primary school working with children 5-11 yrs. It is possible to combine this role with Community Play Support Worker role
Summer holidays Playworkers and Youth workers working with disabled and non disabled children age 5-19 yrs on holiday play schemes 25th of July to the 17th of August.
Community Playworkers working on our summer playday programme, 15 to 20 hours a week, Monday to Thursday usually 3 days per week.

Outdoor Play - Community Play Rangers

Thanks to funding from Quartet Community Foundation and Curo, Community Play Rangers will be running again in Foxhill.

Come and meet Ollie and Kev who will be facilitating an exciting range of play opportunities after school on Mondays 4–6pm in Springfield Park. Children will need to register by completing a simple form and the sessions will be FREE every week (term time only).For further information, please contact the BAPP Office (01225) 832479



Co-operative Local Community Fund

As a member, every time you shop at Co-op, 1% of what you spend on selected own-brand products and services goes to the local community fund. The money raised by all the members in your community, together with the shopping bag sales, helps to fund projects in your local area.

BAPP are looking for new Playworkers to join the friendly team for school holiday playwork

Playworkers are needed to join existing teams of staff supporting disabled children aged 5 – 19 years during Easter, Summer, October, Christmas and Fenruary school holidays.



Star Project of the Month – Make a Move

Make a Move is a creative movement charity working in Bristol and Bath & North East Somerset that works with:

  • Children in schools
  • Young adults with learning disabilities
  • Elderly people suffering from dementia
  • Mothers suffering from post-natal depression. 
Make a Move aims to improve mental health and wellbeing using a combination of creative movement, music, dance therapy and talking therapy.
