BAPP is a local voluntary organisation and Registered Charity. We promote and facilitate opportunities for children and young people to play and participate in positive activities. BAPP recognises and promotes the importance of self-directed play in relation to child development and the rights of children and young people.

HLF Parks for People Sydney Gardens

BAPP has been asked to engage with children, families and groups that are not using Sydney Gardens, to introduce the HLF Parks for People project that will restore the park and create a new play area with improved play facilities and equipment. In addition to meeting and talking to children in schools, talking to parents in toddler groups and residents associations in Bathwick, Widcombe and Snowhill, we will be running 2 Play Workshops.

If you live within a 10/15 minute walk of Sydney Gardens, then please come along and explore the play potential of Sydney Gardens and have your voice heard for the future plans.

Play Workshops: Saturday 17th March and Thursday 5th April 10.30am – 12 noon

Spring Stamp Around Launch in Keynsham

BAPP will be providing a range of fun play and activities for the launch of the Spring Stamp Around in conjunction with B&NES. Once you complete the Stamp Around trail and collect all your stamps, you can enjoy fun and games and arts and crafts with the Playworkers.

The launch starts at 2pm with the trail and then the play starts at 2.30pm -4pm once you’ve collected all your stamps!

Meet at the bandstand in the Memorial Park in Keynsham at 2pm on Wednesday 28th March

BAPP are looking for new Playworkers to join the friendly team for school holiday playwork

Playworkers are needed to join existing teams of staff supporting disabled children aged 5 – 19 years during Easter, Summer, October, Christmas and Fenruary school holidays.


Lunchtime Playworker 7.5 hours/week

Are you looking for some playwork in the middle of the day? Ideal if you work in an after school provision and are wanting to do more hours. Monday to Friday term time only 11.45 to 13.15 less INSET days. Supporting children aged 7-11 years to have a fun and positive playtime, facilitating play opportunities using loose parts from the Playpod.

You will be a great communicator, calm and approachable, preferably with experience of working or volunteering with children. Please ring or email for an Application Form and Job Description



Star Project of the Month – Bath Area Play Project's Family Play hubs


Family Play Hubs are aimed at families who need additional support including playing with their children or who are feeling isolated within the community.  Run after school they provide a safe and non-judgmental space where families can come together each week for support and encouragement as well as having the opportunity to enjoy playing together with their children and other families.
