Every Child Has a Right to Play

BAPP is a local voluntary organisation and Registered Charity. We promote and facilitate opportunities for children and young people to play and participate in positive activities. BAPP recognises and promotes the importance of self-directed play in relation to child development and the rights of children and young people. 


Bath Area Play Project is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and embed this into practice

Bath Half 2019

Thank you to our amazing Bath Half 2019 runners who raised a fantastic £2500 for BAPP!  We are so grateful to them all.

Half term Family Session (Tuesday 28th & Thursday 30th May)

BAPP are organisatings two family session during May Half term for families with a disabled child (and their siblings). These sessions are for the whole family and our playworkers will be on hand to support and ensure the day goes well. 


Tuesday 28th May - Trip to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm (meet there 10am) £10 (includes entrance & a special animal handling workshop) Parents/carers go free where they are providing 1:1 support for a disabled child.

Thursday 30th May - Try a sport day, Odd Down Sports ground 10 - 3pm. Come along and have a go at Tri-golf, cycling (using adapted bikes) cricket, rugby, boccia, athletics etc... sports coaches and playworkers will be on hand throughout the day to support young people. 


Both these sessions must be attended by the Parent/Carer and the disabled child/ren and all siblings are also welcome! Play Rangers

Play Rangers run weekly sessions in Sydney Gardens (BA2 4DB) on Wednesdays 3.30 - 5.30pm. Free after school play opportunities for children ages 5+ Children under 8 must be supervised by a responsible adult. For more information please see our leaflet below or call 01225 832479



BAPP are looking for new Playworkers to join teams working with disabled children and non-disabled aged 5 to 19 years. We have vacancies during most school holidays, Saturday's, lunchtime in term time and other sessions. If you're passionate about the child's right to play, a real team player and good communicator who's willing to give anything a go, then get in touch caroline@bathareaplayproject.co.uk for further details.


2019 is BAPP's 40th Anniversary! We are thinking about ways we can celebrate this at the moment... Check out our facebook page for photos throughout the years. Share your memories of BAPP with us if you can.

This month's Star Project: Odd Down Youth Club

Organised and run by Dave Joyce from Bath Youth For Christ, this youth club runs on Friday evenings 4 - 7pm at the Odd Down Community Centre, for young people aged 9 - 14 years old. Excellent range of fun activities and great opportunity to socalise with friends in a safe space. Why not come along and give it a go!



Are you a Co-operative member and have a blue card?  Or if not, you can become a member for £1 and earn cash back on your shopping. You will also be able to choose BAPP Family Wheely Fun Days as your charity to support!
