How we use cookies

The Bath Area Play Project website does not set cookies.

We do, however, use various 3rd-party web apps on the site, such as Google Analytics, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr. These apps may set cookies . However, the cookie information from each of these sites is usually anonymous and cannot identify you personally, unless you have also currently logged in to those 3rd-party systems.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ('Google').

Google Analytics uses 'cookies' to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for us and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

The cookies in use to support the analytics:

  • __utma stored 730 days and stores each user's amount of visits, time of the first visit, previous visit and the current visit
  • __utmb is stored less than a day and is used to check approximately how long a user stays on a site: when a visit starts and approximately ends
  • __utmc is session based and works in the same way as __utmb
  • __utmz stored for 182 days and stores where a visitor came from e.g. a search engine

Twitter
