BAPP have been awarded three years funding from the Children’s
Workforce Development Council for work which will look at how the
sector is responding to Children’s Workforce Reform. The work aims
to engage the Private Voluntary and Independent sector in the
Children’s Workforce Reform agenda and will initially involve an
exercise which will map the sector. This will be followed by a
training needs analysis which will identify the best model of
delivering training for the sector.
A training programme will then be created to cover the core
competencies, induction, safeguarding, disabled children, CAF/ Lead
Professional, information sharing/ contact point, etc. All
organisations working with children and young people in the PVI
sector will be contacted in the next few months in relation to this
work. The greater the input from the sector, the stronger a case can
be made for devising a training programme that is relevant.
