
Bath Area Play Project is a voluntary organisation and registered charity run by voluntary Trustees who oversee the running of the organisation. They employ staff to provide the services.
Caroline Haworth B.Ed(Hons), MBE
Caroline has been employed as Co-ordinator since October 1993.
Previously she was a teacher working with early years children and
children with emotional and behaviourial problems. She worked in a
variety of play and childcare environments whilst training and also
whilst teaching. She has worked in the private sector, voluntary
sector as well as statutory.
Whilst with BAPP, Caroline has undertaken various tutoring
qualifications including a Training & Development NVQ Level 3 and
tutors a range of playwork training.
As Co-ordinator she is responsible for staffing, volunteers,
publicity, fundraising, policy and strategy development, finances
and service management.
Sam Francis B.A.(Hons); PGCE;
CACHE Diploma in Playwork Level 3; CFET
Sam started working with BAPP in a variety of roles; as a Playworker,
Creche Worker, and Playleader. She then took on the admin role in
the BAPP office as well as sessional work for Teenage Rampage and is
now Lead Worker in this role.
Her responsibilities include training administration, office
management and systems, resources, database management and
communication.
James Beattie CACHE Diploma in
Playwork Level 3
James has worked as a sessional worker with teenage rampage,
playworker and playleader and also a Crèche Worker with BAPP. He
started in this role in Septmber 2006 and his repsonsibilities
include support for play settings in relation to quality play and
inclusion, facilitation and organisation of the Play Network and
mentoring settings for their Flying High quality assurance award.
Nikki Cox B.A.(Hons), BTEC
Hospital Play Specialist, FAETC, Level 3 Working with children and
ECP Tutor training
Nikki started work in this role in 2004 and has a background in
playwork and support work with young people. She works with the
Teenage Rampage group and previously the Stay 'n' Play group. Her
responsibilities include managing sessional staff, organisation and
facilitation of sessions, outreach work with families and young
people and relevant meetings and networks with disability and
inclusion as a focus.
Val Rowlands NVQ Level 3 Playwork,
NVQ Level 3 Early Years, Everyone Can Play.
Val has worked as a playleader and playworker since 1985. She led a
group of parents in the Twerton area to campaign for premises for
children to be able to play which is the building known as the Hut.
She now has a varied role with Managing the Crèche at the Hut as
well as the Development Worker for the Toy lIbrary. Her
responsibilities include organisation and facilitation of toy
library sessions, database management, stock control, publicity and
promotion of the toy library.
Kerry Rowlands NVQ Level 3
Playwork, NVQ Level 3 Early Years, Everyone Can Play.
Kerry has worked as a Playworker for many years and took on this
role in 2002 when the Sure Start local programme identified toy
libraries as an important service for families. She runs sessions
throughout the Sure Start area in community venues which are open to
all with specialist knowledge of pre- school children. Her
responsibilites include setting up and organisation of sessions,
cataloguing toys and equipment, providing advice and information
relating to child development and children's play.
