Summer Playworkers - We have now recruited for Summer 2017
Please only apply of you are interested in being a bank playworker. This would mean there would be no guarantee of work but you could be asked to step in if regular staff are ill or unable to work for any reason.
Or work with our community play team, working in parks across B&NES with children and families at Community Playdays.
You should have experience of working with children, hold a relevant qualification if possible or be willing to attend training, have a sense of humour and willingness to give anything a go!
Playwork is hard work but incredibly rewarding, enabling and encouraging children of all ages and abilities to play in different ways.
Work is from 24th July to 17/18th August either in holiday playschemes in Bath or community playdays across B&NES.
There is no closing date
We have work available at various times including Crèches for training sessions for parents, school lunchtimes and play sessions in school holidays. Hours are varied and pay is between £8 and £12 per hour.
We employ staff during school holidays and at other times of the year for short term contracts. For summer holiday work we usually advertise in the local press in the Spring depending on how many staff are returning to work for us. Once you have been successfully recruited to work for BAPP you will usually be asked whether you wish to return for the following year. Where you wish to apply for a different position, then you will have to re-apply.
We operate all recruitment through our Equal Opportunities framework and policy. All applications, whether internal or external must be submitted by a closing date on the BAPP Application Form with details of two referees. Once received forms are submitted for shortlisting to the Interview Panel who use the Person Specification for the job to decide whether you have the qualities and experience for the post.
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview. References will be considered and the best person for the job will be selected based on your application form, your references and your interview.
Where vacancies arise for other positions these will also be advertised in the local press and on this website. You cannot apply online. You can either ring the BAPP office or pop in and request or pick up an Application Pack for the post you are interested in. This should be completed and signed and returned to the office by the closing date. Alternatively you can download a Job Application Form.
If you require assistance with the application or would like any questions answered, please contact the office. Visits to settings can be arranged prior to interviews however we only have one venue ourselves and at times when playschemes are not running they are used by a variety of users.
You will need to contact the office for a Job Description. Either ring or email your request. Tel: 01225 832479

Our aim is to support and develop employees in their role so that they feel confident to undertake the responsibilities placed upon them and ultimately are able to contribute to the success of the organisation.
Are you looking to gain some experience of working with children? We support volunteers to work alongside staff teams to support children's play throughout the year. See our Volunteers page for further details.
