Paid Staff Vacancies

 

We currently have the following vacancies for new staff to join existing teams. We offer a great experience, making a real difference to children and families across the Bath area. Experience is more important than qualifications however we do wish to recruit staff with appropriate training. All positions require an enhanced DBS check and 2 references.

Family Play Support Worker 34 hrs/wk over 5 days £20,138-£22,658 pro-rata

 

BAPP are looking for an experienced practitioner with a passion for making a difference and who understand the power of play for positive change for children and families.

You will have at least 2 years’ experience of working with children and families, be a confident communicator who is sensitive but can challenge appropriately when needed. You should be aware of the family partnership method using a strengths based perspective and understand the importance of play for children's development. You will be able to work flexibly over 5 days/wk year round, have a sense of humour and a playful and creative approach to work. 

 

The Family Play Support Worker works as part of a small team at Bath Area Play Project to support whole families with school age children (5 – 19 years) who are referred to the Family Support & Play Service visiting them at least weekly to offer practical and emotional support. The aim as a preventative service and part of the B&NES Early Help offer is support for whole families. 

 

As a Family Play Support Worker your role would vary depending on the particular needs of the family you are working with. You will be working with the whole family which can include sessions with both parents and child/ren, with children away from parents and with parents when child not present depending on what is needed. The support can take place in the family home, in the child's school or in a community setting.You will get regular supervision, 25 days plus Bank Holidays pro-rata, flexible working and an office base with no parking costs.
