Play Training

Bath Area Play Project can provide a range of training to suit your setting’s needs. Previously we have devised and run short courses in the following: Child Protection, Challenging Behaviour, Inclusion, The Law, Games and many other subjects. Attendance Certificates can be given. To discuss your requirements in detail together with costings, please contact BAPP.

Please enquire at the BAPP office for dates of the next course you are interested in. Some training is particularly popular and we operate a waiting list for these.

Flyers and booking forms are usually sent out to specific people who have identified they would like to do the course as well as a general mailing to the sector. To secure a place, return the booking form to the BAPP office with the accompanying payment as soon as possible to secure your place.

Where a place has been booked and the individual is unable to take up the place within a week of the start date, the fee will not be returned unless we are able to fill the space from our waiting list.

The Level 3 Diploma in Playwork is only suitable for those working or voilunteering in a playwork environment where an Assessor can observe your practice. As at February 2016, there is Government Funding available for anyone working for more than 30 hours a week to gain an Advanced Apprenticeship through an NVQ route. This is therefore not suitable for anyone new to playwork but for experienced playworkers, is an ideal way of gaining a qualification whilst you are working. You will be required to put a portfolio together of evidence of your capabilities and meet with the assessor each month and it is predicted that playworkers will complete the Diploma between 9 and 12 months.

Congratulations to all the SMSAs and Nursery staff at St. Saviour's Infants School who have completed their Play training!

We looked at the importance of play for children's development, the play types, the role of the adult in children's play and the importance of loose parts play.

They had fun building towers with scrap and enjoyed the last session outside in the sun! With thanks to Head teacher Ed, who supports and encourages play throughout the school.
