BAPP is a registered charity and local voluntary organisation. We promote and facilitate opportunities for children and young people to play and participate in positive activities. We promote the importance of self-directed play for child development and the rights of children.
Bath Area Play Project are a small voluntary organisation established in 1979 to support the child’s right to play and facilitate a range of play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.

Our services include: The Family Support Play service, Free nurture groups in schools, Short breaks provision for children with additional needs, holiday play services, inclusive family play sessions & our nursery & preschool.

Saturday club play workers:
We are looking for playworkers for our Saturday clubs for children with additional needs:
Saturday morning 9 - 12pm for children 5-12 years at the HUT in Twerton
Saturdays 11- 2.30pm for children 12+ at the Odd Down Community Centre.

Teenage Rampage Sessional Youthworker
Teenage Rampage is our youth group on a Tuesday evening for young people with additional needs and disabilities aged 13 – 21 years. We are looking for a Youth worker experienced in working with young people with SEND to join the team and support development of social and life skills, whilst having fun with peers in a friendly and supportive environment. This is a term time only post, working 3 hrs/wk, £10.73/hour inc holiday pay. Further work may be available in school holidays and/or on Saturdays.
Children & Young People's Network Co-ordinator
We are currently recruiting for the CYP Network Co-ordinator position and looking for an exceptional individual, passionate about supporting organisations to improve outcomes for children and young people and BAPP’s child-centred, inclusive values and keen to support the wider community. Training and support will be given for the right individual to become a part of the Management team.
The role supports the Third Sector organisations working across B&NES to keep them informed about legislation, training and consultations, supporting representatives attending strategic meetings and ensuring the voice of children and young people is heard. Providing Network meetings and compiling a monthly E-bulletin.
BAPP are currently undertaking a Structural Review and as part of this, it is expected that this role will become a project as part of a wider Community Engagement Manager position towards the end of 2022. This will potentially become a full time role and open to job share.
The post will initially be for 18 hours/week, based in the Odd Down Community Centre and flexible and so can be worked in school hours. It is a year round post. NJC Scale Pt 19 - 23 £25,481 - £27,741 pro-rata

BAPP are looking for friendly and playful people to work as part of teams supporting children to have fun playing and socialising with their friends and families during the school holidays.
Playwork is incredibly rewarding, enabling and encourages children of all ages and abilities to play in different ways. This may be creatively, imaginatively, physically, sensory and supporting the development of emotional wellbeing and resilience as well as responding appropriately to children's play cues.
We have positions available working at our open acess plays sessions in local parks as well as at our playschemes working with children who have additional needs. Experience of working or volunteering in this area would be useful although not essential. A positive attitude and inclusive approach is just as important and we welcome applications from those looking to gain experience.
All posts require satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check which we will pay for. We will provide access to Safeguarding training, Paediatric First Aid as well as other more specific as required e.g. Hoist training.
Work is during main school holidays. You will be working with experienced playworkers who will support and coach you and we provide access to training.
