The Short Breaks team helps children and young people with disabilities and complex needs to engage in active and age appropriate play opportunities which promote their independence, social skills and well-being.
You will be enthusiastic, flexible and ideally have experience working with school aged children and young people in an inclusive setting. Having a caring and child-centred attitude, you will help create a positive environment that provides children and young people with opportunities to experience a wide range of play opportunities, explore activities and experiment, develop friendships and have fun.
Salary: £11.68 hr / £12.00 Saturdays
Hours: Primary 9am - 1pm and Secondary 11am - 3pm term time only
Holiday Club offers 7 hours per session. Sessions run weekdays during most school holidays 08/8.30am to 3.30pm (10 weeks p.a.). Staff can be contracted for every holiday or flexi.

Nursery & Pre School Assistant

Nursery and Pre-school open term time only and looking for magical and playful L3 EY qualified, friendly people to join our lovely team. You should have experience of working with children under 5 including babies.
Working with children under 5 is a privilege and in addition to the daily routine of supporting and caring for children on their first steps into exploring and becoming curious about the world around them, you will be reading stories, taking children on adventures into magical places in their imaginations, exploring outdoors and natural materials, dressing up, eating pretend food and imaginary cups of coffee as well as wiping noses, sweeping up sand and planning fun learning opportunities.
One role is for Maternity Cover from March 2025,
working Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 08.30 - 15.15 term time only,
28 hours/week.
There are a limited number of further hours available as SENDCo where experienced.
The other is a part time role, working Tuesdays and available for bank work for the remainder of the week. £12.67/hour
You will be confident and able to:
* Plan and implement developmentally appropriate playful learning activities for children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
* Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
* Provide personal care and support to children, including feeding, changing, and assisting with toilet training
*Observe and assess children's development and progress, and maintain accurate records
* Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and partnership in the child's learning journey
* Support children with additional needs or challenging behaviour, implementing consistent strategies as needed in partnership with parents
* Maintain a clean and safe learning environment, both inside and out, ensuring the health and safety of all children
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
You will have a warm and friendly approach and be looking for somewhere you can really make a difference.
You should have an understanding of the importance of play for children's development and learning and a good understanding of child development, EYFS framework, theories and practices in the
early years
* Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
* Be patient, be empathetic and be able to build positive relationships with children and their families
* Able to create a stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity, exploration, and creativity through play
* Able to observe and assess children's progress and share with parents
* Able to be flexible and adaptable to meet the individual needs of each child, using a person-centred approach.
